Our family loves to sing praises to God and music has been our passion for many years. In July Lisa is going on a missions trip to Mexico for a week, so we will collect an offering to go towards it. Our church has a growing Hispanic population, so this trip is coming at a perfect time. Lisa has been learning to sing in Spanish and is excited for all she will get out of this missions trip.

We will celebrate this God-appointed time with a time of worship and reaffirming our covenant with Jesus as the bride of Christ.
What is Pentecost?
Here's a more detailed breakdown:
-
Harvest Celebration:
Pentecost marked the end of the grain harvest, specifically the offering of the first fruits of the wheat harvest, 50 days after the barley harvest.
-
Commemoration of the Law:
Jewish tradition connects Pentecost to the day God gave the Ten Commandments to Moses on Mount Sinai, and the Israelites received the law.
-
Covenant Renewal:
The feast was a time to reaffirm the covenant between God and the Israelites, symbolizing their commitment to God's law.
-
Theological Significance:
While initially a harvest festival, Pentecost also took on deeper theological meaning, symbolizing God's covenant with his people and the ongoing relationship between God and Israel and future fulfillments for His bride.( Joel 2:28)
