New Generation Church – Uganda

Ministry Overview

Townley Ministries partners with New Generation Church, led by Bishop Philip Charo, a growing and fruitful ministry in Uganda dedicated to spiritual renewal, prayer, and national transformation.

New Generation Church’s mission is:

“Proclaiming spiritual liberation throughout the land and the transformation of its inhabitants.”

Since 2018, Townley Ministries has had the privilege of partnering financially and relationally with Bishop Philip and his team as God has significantly expanded the impact of this ministry for the spreading of the Gospel, and have traveled to Uganda for ministry trips.

What God Is Doing Through This Partnership

Church Expansion
New Generation Church is almost finished completing their cathedral that will seat 1,500 people, providing a permanent place for worship, teaching, discipleship, and prayer for the surrounding region. God has called us to make this an Apostolic Training Center to train up leaders and send them out to spread the Good News of the Gospel to the world.

Radio Station Development
A three-story radio station is currently under construction on the church campus. This station will broadcast biblical teaching, prayer, worship, and encouragement—extending the gospel far beyond the church walls and into communities across Uganda.

The Revival Prayer Movement
God has used Bishop Philip and his team to ignite a powerful prayer movement throughout their region. Monthly prayer gatherings—often marked by extended prayer, fasting, and overnight intercession—have been established in multiple communities.

The fruit of this prayer movement has been tangible and widely recognized, including:

  • Decreased crime

  • Stronger families

  • Improved economic stability

These changes have drawn the attention of both tribal leadership and the President of Uganda. Bishop Philip has since been invited to join the National Men’s Prayer Fellowship and help lead the nation in establishing additional prayer gatherings.

Discipleship & Compassion Ministry
Bishop Philip and his family have also taken in former street boys, led them to Christ, and are actively discipling them while providing for their daily needs. This work reflects a deep commitment to both the gospel and practical love.

Housing & Hospitality Need (Current Priority)

For many years, Bishop Philip and his family have lived on the church property. They have recently been offered a nearby property approximately four miles from the church that would allow them to:

  • Establish a permanent family home

  • Provide a safe place for rest and renewal

  • Host ministry guests and leaders

Property Cost: $80,000
Immediate Need (Security Deposit): $10,000

This is a significant opportunity to strengthen the long-term sustainability and hospitality capacity of the ministry.
